Afternoon

I would ask the specialist I use to service my car, but they're now closed until Monday. I'm looking at replacing my A6 with an older VW Group car.

Can the specialist legally give me (tell me about) the service history of the car I am interested in, if I give them the reg number? (Regardless of whether there is any history to tell me about!)

Thanks

My specialist has when I was a bit dubious about the records of my girlfriends car. From a GPDR point of view there was no user information it just had the service work completed on the date and mileage.

Showing you service records of a car advertised for sale is "fair use" although GDPR (and some ambulance chasers more recently) make dealers understandably nervous.

It's good practice to blank personal information on old invoices/records.
