Audi TT MK1 3.2 V6 Fuel injectors
Discussion
How difficult is it to change the fuel injectors on these cars please ? Had a misfire and replaced the coil pack but that didn't work and it's been to an independent and they think it's the injector but they're quoting a lot to sort it, telling me it's a sod of a job on these cars. Is it ?
Thanks.
Thanks.
It's an easy job. Less than hour. Access to the intake manifold bolts is easy apart from cylinder 2, but nothing a long ball ended 6mm allen key can't overcome.
I've never seen a V6 injector go bad but shame I've only just seen this as I threw a set of 6 out recently!
Being a MK1 V6 it's probably the BDB engine code? This was a bit of a hybrid lump mixing MK4 R32 and MK5 R32 parts, and is therefore unfortunately an unwilling customer for timing chain wear. How many miles on it?
Get the garage to check measuring blocks 208 and 209 with VAG-COM to make sure it's not timing drift causing the misfire before firing the parts cannon at it.
Did they enable misfire detection in VAG-COM to detect which cylinder is misfiring?
If not electrical or fuel delivery, a compression check/leak down test will be required to establish mechanical health unfortunately.
