Hi.
Ive got a 2016 Allroad V6 TDi auto with 80K miles, and its got a bit of an odd vibration.

At about 65mph + there is a vibration that I feel through the seat of my pants... the steering wheel is rock solid and vibration free so its not wheel related.

Any ideas welcome.

How do, I can’t help with this but I’ve just bought one of these. How has it been apart from the vibration?

It’s speed related - which then I guess might point at drive shafts and stuff?

Apart from this - omfg I love it, and I came out of an e39 M5 to this ( big dog and teenagers don’t like sharing back seats)

Mine has the valcone leather and twin blade 20” wheels that look like the ones on most 488’s.

It’s plenty brisk… I’ve done a few dawn raids in it and other than it’s barge like length it’s more capable of hustling a B road and keeping up with everyone else.

The sat NAV and MMI are all good, shame it doesn’t have CarPlay but I think there’s a hack for that. But it’ll play my Spotify through the phone connection so no dramas there.

I’ve used it to move Child #1 out of uni, and will do it again with here and also with #2 this year so it’s ticked the boxes for load carrying.

Yes I could have had an s6 or an RS6 but I didn’t want to wake up to having my back doors kicked in for the keys so all in all…

I’m a happy bunny

In my second- I’ve the mid poke 275hp version now.
Same with you ? Or the naughty biturbo ?
My last one ran 19s so cheap all season tyres were great. These 20’s mean pricey (£250) all-season tyres frown

All rounder vehicle for sure. And works for me.Just done a UK tour with two dogs, roof box and kids in the back
The WiFi connection keeps them happy !

Mine have just been throwing a wobbler about the cameras-the NS wing mirror one was intermittently off, but now fine, exchanging for the front to now now work.

Frustrating

Same as yours. Sport model, so has a good standard spec with the 19” wheels. I’ve heard wheel choice makes a big difference in the ride. Is that right?

I’d happily have 19s again smile

Could easily be a buckled rear wheel or rear tyre out of shape.

How's the brake pedal?

Could it be a rear wheel not balanced right?

I lost a wheel weight off one of the rears of my A6 Avant recently, and that's exactly what it was doing.

One of my biggest pet hates in cars is out of balance wheels/tyres

booked in later for all 4 wheels to be balanced. So i'll report back after I've had that done and taken it for a spin

Given common things are common smile I'd go for buckled / out of balance rear too.

So went to the local tyre shop...

"Right then Mr NB Singh.... it appears that all of your wheels are a varying degree of buckled, your rear driver side is the most, that'll account for the shake you feel in the seat of your pants"

So... I'll get them straightened out. They said they see a lot of this now, big heavy car, huge wheel, tiny sidewall tyre.... bent alloys.

The condition of the UK's roads are not a great help are they!

Sorry to hear this, at least you now know what it is

Hi Chaps,

Apologies for a thread hijack but I have just started looking at these as an alternate to RR and other suv. Has anyone run one up to high mileage before ? I test drove one with 115k miles at the weekend as it was local to me and it’s very tempting due to price and condition.

Anything I should be looking out for? Air suspension sits as it should and has full Audi service history.

Personally, I bought mine just on the strength of full Audi service.

I have had zero issues with mine apart from sometimes the wheels are tricky to balance.

Whilst mine still has relative low mileage, I use mine for travelling between Surrey and the Highlands every month or so....

I've just bought one last week with 127,000 miles. I bought on condition not mileage, although helps of course that mine led a motorway life with its previous owner and has a mainly Audi service history.

Pleased the OP found the source of the problem. I think I have the same wheels and thankfully no problems yet.

To those interested in these cars, I can only recommend them. I have a 2016 286ps model which does many things brilliantly;

Accommodates 2 children, 1 wife & 1 dog with ease
Tows a horse trailer and horse without breaking a sweat
Has never got stuck in snow or the field - actually is better on the mud than our Jeep
The BOSE and TechPack are definitely worthwhile!
In dynamic mode can certainly move and for a large heavy car it handles pretty amazingly!

It hasn't been without problems though and thank goodness for a full Audi warranty...at 37k miles it went in to fix a coolant leak and ended up having open heart surgery having had all new timing chains fitted - the warranty saved me a £4k bill.

It's now on 56k miles and I really see nothing that could replace it, hopefully it can go on and on as I love it!

As above - a great all rounder. Tows, Goes and ticks many boxes.

I do find it utterly bizarre though that despite being the Mr Outdoorsman version of the A6 Avant, there is no Audi Roofbars package you can fit.

I have the Thule ones but are a faff.
