RCD330 - Few questions

I wanted to get an RCD330 for our newly acquired mk5 golf. Mainly for Apple car play. The previous owner has installed a similar style unit (maybe a little older) but without car play so I'd like to change it. The good news is that the can bus has been sorted so no battery discharge issues for me to overcome.

Two main questions for now,

1. Where is the best place to buy one of these? Ebay is full of them but I really just want to make sure I buy the right bit of kit. I hear they're not all made equal.

2. I noticed that some people have installed rear USB interface. I'd love this but have soldering skills of a gibbon. Can you buy these units with this feature already installed?

Cheers. I actually found this after I posted. Can get it in UK for about £300 after VAT is charged. And comes with rear usb already installed. That's not that much more than many of the ebay options so I might go for it.

I got one from Lemonshark on eBay and it works great in my Golf Mk6 - had it a week and it came dead quick...

Search for Lemonshark-88 they only have one listing going - it was a NONAME RCD330 and I have tried it in 2 separate Golf Mk6s.

I am not sure if they are made by VW or copies because I can only see Lemonshark stickers on it.

Works great though.

Apologies for the thread bump but I want to get car play in my 2006 VW Jetta.

I’ve followed the advice in this thread to get to this unit:

From reading elsewhere because my car is pre-2009 I need a canbus adaptor to prevent battery drain, has anyone bought one of these or can link me to the right part?
