I have just had a service on my A4 at Burdicks in Syracuse, and the chap behind the counter said that the cambelt interval is now 105k, rather than the 60k I thought it was. Is this right? Cheers... Don't want it going pop down the expressway!

I've got a 2002 2.0 (q130bhp) A4 and I was told it's due for replacement at 115k!

Cool... Never heard of a car going that long without a cambelt change!

Wouldn't happen to be when they have just gone out of warranty by any chance OR are delaying the work until after that point???

cheers

The recommended change mileage is 115k in our 2000 TT's manual. However, most UK dealers say do it at 80k. Many TT owners have changed the belt at 60k due to numerous reported failures before 80k (usually the tensioner gubbins letting go apparently).

So I'd suggest getting it done before 80k, cheaper than an engine rebuild (£4,500uk). Unless there is proof somewhere that Audi have changed the components substantially.

It says on report that they examined it, etc, and it is good, but thanks... I'll get it done pre 80K!
Fanks, and all that...
