Hi guys,

My console bushes (rear bushes on front wishbone) are showing signs of wear. This is on a MK6 Golf. Reading various forums it's recommended that it's best to change to a solid type of bush. I was looking at replacing my current ones with lemforder but now I'm thinking if I change them, I might aswell uprate them.

Can anyone recommend what I replace my current bushes with ?

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion will look into the febi variant. I think I'm leaning towards the solid console bushes from the Audi TT. Apparently it's a bit of a headache getting this installed, as you have to remove the current bush from the console and press the TT bushes in as the TT console doesn't fit the subframe of the Golf.

Yes, that part is the solid bush, oft quoted as TT fitment. There's a good picture in the link below. Bit of faff pressing out the old and fitting new compared to just buying a new console though.

Spoke with my mechanic. I've instead purchased the full alloy console with bush and bolts. Made by Meyle HD. Anyone had any dealings with Meyle HD? comes with a 4 year warranty so should be good (I hope).

The actual bushes aren't solid but only have 2 voids and are made out of heavy duty material. So should be a good compromise with what I've already got and the solid bushes available.

Thanks for your help

Meyle HD are good. I have also changed these for poly bushes too (only these or you ruin the ride). The console bush is the one that wears the fastest. My Passat has gone through 3 sets in 170k, the small bush only two.

Not sure if you got yours fitted or not, but I've got some of these for sale. I used them for ~500 miles (Can give you a invoice for your 4 year warranty too (3.5 years or so left) maybe whilst I upgraded my stock wishbones for powerflex goodies.

You could have both my wishbones with new bushes on both ends for not much more then you paid for just the front rear bushes.....

Let me know what you think!
