Hi all,

I have a 2006 VW Polo 1.9tdi sport pd130 and everytime i get it serviced if it's a new mechanic they tell me never to sell it as it's rare. I was just wondering if this is true or if they are just yanking my chain

Hopefully someone can shed some light

Thanks

Of all the diesel engines I have had over the years, the PD130 in my Fabia vrs was one of my favourites - monumental torque for a short while made it feel rapid as hell. I preferred it to the PD150 at the time and definitely to the recent 4 cylinder TDI's

Do you know if they are rare or if they are worth any money

Comparatively rare? Yes
Any more valuable? hmm doubtful.

Fabia, Ibiza and Polo all were sold with the 130hp TDI. Comparative sales ratio is about 11:5:1. So Fabia sold more than double the Ibiza and Polo less than 10% of the Fabia.

If I was to put a value on this, I would say that a similar condition, age, mileage Fabia would be more valuable than a Polo, as it was more desired/popular originally.

they are rare, yes

when looking at Fabia vRS's 10 years ago I kept one eye on the Polo and Ibiza equivalent with the PD130, very, very few were available compared to the hundreds of Fabia's.

There’s only 10 or so available on Autotrader. So quite rare I’d say. 310Nm torque in a Polo must be kind of fun though!
