I need to sell my MK7 Golf GT tdi and need to find the full factory fitted options for an accurate for sale ad.

Is it a case of approaching a dealer or is there a more convenient way using the VIN and an online database etc?

Not all the spec, bought it for my mother from an independent garage and due to lack of use it’s being sold so I haven’t really paid much attention to it.

I know with BMW’s it’s possible to get the spec online so wondering if a similar database is available for VW.

If you pay for https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showHome.do, enter in your VIN, it will bring up the spec of the car and the various options. Info may be more detailed than you want but it's a start.

Costs around £7 for a day pass.

On a Leon there is a white sticker with codes on it stuck near the spare wheel under the boot.

I guess its the same on the Golf, you need to find what all the codes mean though.

Get onto VWs online chat, they have (or had) access to that info.

A duplicate sticker is also stuck on the inside front cover of the service booklet.

The 3 digit option codes can be decoded online. You can find the sites by doing a search "VW option code decoder"

The other option is to call VW Customer Service with the VIN and they should be able to give you the build spec.

Do this smile

If you get anything other than "here it is" you can mention their response is strange as the dealer where you just ordered your brand new VW from said they would be able to do this for you.
