I have a 2014 (Mark 7) 1390 cc petrol golf cabriolet .Could anyone with the same car post a picture of their engine compartment and drivers dash fuse boxes. I was trying to find a fuse for the screen wash, VW don’t put fuse layout diagrams in the car or hand book. I had no luck on the net. Trying to be clever I decided to pull fuses out to see if I could find a blown one and didn’t make a record before hand. I stopped when I realised I wasn’t sure where a 20a fuse had to go back.
I stopped and as the car started and assumed everything was ok.
Later on, I took the car out. It was running ok until I went across a roundabout ½ mile up the road. I needed to give it extra gas and the car gave a big jerk like it was about to stall, but continued ok. A further ½ mile the engine stopped and the service and EPC warning lights came on and it would turn but not rev or catch. I contacted the local VW dealer/garage asking for a diagram, but as there is no profit for them, they didn’t get back to me.
The car is well maintained so I don’t think it was a coincidence it clapped out after I messed around with the fuses. I have a pic of the engine fuse box. It could be more than one fuse in the wrong place
Thanks
ps I can't seem to be able to upload the image of my fuse box
