every week more problems, any one help with this one.

Fault no 1, 225 coupe quat, the car wont pull hard from standing, it just revs out, feed the power in slowly and the car pulls ok. First thoughts have been with the clutch but there is no burning, slipping or smell.

Fault no 2, this time last year the temp started to rise past 90 degs, took the car to audi they changed the water pump and all seemed fine now the temp has started to rise agian. normal driving is ok but if you leave the car after a run go to re start and the temp gauge is reading past the 90 and almost into the red, run for about a min and the temp falls back to 90.

any ideas would help as i am in spain and cant quite talk to audi here to well, as my spanish is terrible when it comes to the car.

Possible rad fan temperature switch for the cooling prob or afterun switch/relay (if fitted) not working.

Deffo sounds like the clutch is slipping to me.
Why else would it be ok at slow feed in but not when dumping it a little harder??

To test for slip, take it for a brief drive up a small hill and drop it into 3rd or 4th prematurely then give it a bootful of throttle. If it continues pulling strongly the clutch is most likely ok. If the revs rise and you dont pickup any speed while its happening, the clutch will be slipping.
HTH.

Alternatively, apply the handbrake, put it into 2nd and let the clutch up as if to drive away. Note what happens to the engine speed. If it drop and almost stalls, the clutch is most likely ok. if the engine speed rises or just drops a little, the clutch is slipping.
