Hi guys so I’m in the market for an R, coming from bmw I’m not so clued up what to go for spec wise on these, I’ve come across this at
My local dealer, just wondering if it a good buy or would I be better off investing in something else for the money, cheers

I got a basic one, only option was making it blue (colour, not mood smile). Good for all seasons and uses after 15k miles in 8 months.

Options which are attractive - pano roof, nicer wheels, leather, dynaudio, not white. None of which would particularly improve my enjoyment of the car.

Each to their own.

Fair play mate, I’m like you not so fussed about too many toys, but would ideally like something with the extra as it will likely fetch more beer money when I come to sell a few years down the line, would you say that’s a good buy considering it’s a 17 plate and limestone grey or just bog standard with nav lol

Yeah, I have a mate in the trade who says that due to the number of these that were no options ticked, leased cars - that options are highly prized on value on resale, but are difficult to find and expensive to buy!

Not really a good answer to your question, sorry...

As above, an optioned car will stand out from the large numbers of ex lease, no-optioned cars.

Lapiz blue was a common option, as it's an 'R' specific colour. DSG and DCC are quite highly sought after.

Yeah I’ve noticed mate, same story with the m140i, seems to be loads of ex leased vehicles floating about which aren’t specced very well, and as you said the gooduns are fetching strong money

For price comparisons (as i assume it'll be a bit too much of a trek), have a look at Lookers VW Teesside. They've got a few R's in from £18k-£30k.

Will have a check mate, is a little too far though. I did find a lovely lapis blue up in derby but the dealer wasn’t willing to deliver to a local dealer and wanted to charge me £1.50 a mile to do so- no thanks. Is the rear view parking camera and heated seats and Bluetooth connectivity an additional extra or something that comes as standard? As that’s something I would like to have. What about keyless entry and the voice activated malarkey? This particular model has the European nav is that any good? Cheers

Also what’s the dynamic chassis control about?

On my 18 plate - adaptive cruise incl emergency braking, heated seats and nav are standard as is Bluetooth and music streaming.

No rear view camera, but lots of sensors bleeping. It is not a big car, so hardly a challenge to manoeuvre.

And “plip” central locking - nothing keyless - which I took as a positive point.

I take it yours is a 7.5 R? Would the 7 benefit from same features as standard? I’ve emailed the dealer with an offer today and they rang me back but I missed the call as I was working so they might be willing to play ball. I agree it’s hardly the size of a bus but I do think the reverse camera is a desirable option for many. I’m half tempted to lease a brand new one with all the possible toys but I’ve never leased before and not entirely convinced. I know x amount of years down the line the car will take a big hit and that’s money out of my pocket but having nothing to show at the end of a lease deal doesn’t appeal to me, I don’t know hmmm

Heated seats were an option. Came with either leather or the winter pack. There were two types of Nav too. The Discover Pro is the better option, has a bigger screen. Adaptive cruise should be standard.
