Hello,

I'm after a GTI Clubsport with the recaros and in manual form.

After looking through AT and PH I am convinced that literally no one is trying to sell one, can anyone shed any light on whether this particular spec is known to be especially rare? (or maybe I am poor at searching biggrin )

TIA, Luke.

The Recaros are lovely, were they an option on the non S?

Could you put rear seats into the S?

Yeah they were an option, they are amazing imo.

Putting rear seats into an S would be the dream but what work it would take I am unsure with regards to airbags and seatbelts etc? Also very expensive.

The Recaro Buckets were about a £1500 option

VW should have made them a cost option on the standard GTI and R.

Incredibly rare. I spent a while looking for one last year but gave up.

Worth pointing out that the Recaros meant that you missed out on a few options, arm rest obviously, but also the emergency city braking IIRC. No idea why.

Saw a photo of Recaros fitted and the armrest in place.

Aftermarket Recaros then, definitely didn't come out the factory with them.

They must have been retro fitted.

They were optionally available in MK5 GTI/R32 but takeup was very low.

Which model of recaro bucket are fitted in the Mk7 and can you buy them direct from Recaro?

Looked for 5 door, manual, non-white back in 2017. Rocking horse doo!!
Wasn't willing to pay £30+k for not my perfect car.
I believe VW mainly threw them out of the factory in bulk.
So got a facelift GTI instead, however, I still keep hankering towards one.
