Hi, first time in Audi corner. Have just bought a B7 A4 (2008) 2 litre TDI. Engine # BRE...
Does it have a dpf?
Cheers

Yes it does. It will be connected to the other end of the breather pipe that runs from the air filter. They are not very hard to miss either when looking under the bonnet.
Why would a DPF be connected to the air filter?

Worth verifying the VIN with Audi, as some B7s do and some don't for some reason. My 2008 3.0 TDI doesn't for example, and it was one of the last B7s.

Is it not in the exhaust system as it is there to collect diesel particles?

Update, have just spoken with Audi NZ dealer, my car does NOT have a dpf, am quite happy about that. Normal cat only.
Couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere online, just unsubstantiated opinion from 101 sources.

Cheers beer
