Have a 12 month old S3 which has done 3k miles. Seems mad keeping it but not sure how high value cars are selling these days with cheap pcp deals around. Anyone have recent experience?

Surely you would use some sort of SOR business? Bigger audience and less hassle. Can only imagine the number of time wasters wanting to pilot an S3..

Offer it to DrG on here - he buys for a well known Audi retailer - or any other specialist. Know what WBAC would pay and factor in a modest uplift as your starting point for what it's likely to fetch, spec depending.

Private is a potential world of pain, but we bought our Mk7 GTI PP through a private sale at a year old - I don't think buyers were tripping over themselves to buy it, as many will need the support of a finance product. I tried selling a Leon Cupra R privately, some years ago, and was getting offers below trade from any private punter showing interest. It went back to the supplying dealer in the end.

Ref suggestion of SOR - there are many horror stories with these outfits not paying out after taking the money for moving your money on, so I'd tread carefully.

Not sure whether I read it on here, however I am sure some finance brokers can provide finance products for private sale..

It could be worth a try but it will be a very limited market and high potential for timewasters.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I was able to get for my Mk3 TT trading it in recently, as the figure I got was actually the same as Autotrader's recommended private sale price.

Any Audi dealer will take it out of your hands, I found Sytner and Group One Auto offered the highest prices. You may also find places like Arnold Clark or CarGiant worth trying as they'll bid good money for cars they can sell on themselves.

This, my friend p/ex'd an Evoque recently and got £3k more from Tootle than the dealer offered.

I didn't think a s3 is high end? What are we looking at in terms of £££?

The OP says high value, not high end. Value is subjective - and spec sensitive - but I imagine we're in the £25-30k range if it has some choice options. It's a lot for the majority of people that require finance to buy a new-ish car

If it's a basic specification car they can be difficult (and there's a lot of basic, lease return cars around right now) but with a few nice extras they're still desirable.

It's decent spec DrG. Am going to try Tootle and see how it gets on.

Might be too late, but as an alternative, try Sytner. They have dedicated buying teams for all the major premium brands. I sold my newish low mileage A4 to them a couple of years back, and they were great to deal with.
