I had my A3 serviced a couple of months ago and because I have let servicing slip the auto inspection reminder is already showing an Inspection required again in the next few days. How do I clear/reset this? The Oil service is easy to reset but not the Inspection interval.

Seems to depend on which model year A3. Search YouTube, there are lots of vids for each model year.

On my 2016 VW it's: ignition off, turn on hazard flashers, hold down the Trip Reset, and turn ignition on, one click. Reset message appears.

Thanks I'll give that a try as well as a further search.

There are usually different service reminders for oil and inspection items. They can be a mix of time and mileage dependant.

Have you been through the service book and worked out whether there are specific items due on time grounds that weren't done at the last service?

Assuming you're not doing mega miles and it just gets a ramp and stamp on an annual basis, I would get someone with VCDS to reset the inspection service indicator so it times out at the same time as the oil service reminder is next due, assuming there is no outstanding work required.

Why don't you just ask the servicing garage to reset it for you?

Was it a full inspection service it had done a couple of months ago? If it was only an oil change it could still be a valid reminder.

VCDS is the only way I'm aware to custom reset it, i.e change the days/ miles remaining to a true figure as opposed to just the default 2-years/ 18k miles

If it's on Long life servicing it will need a machine I believe.

Fixed can be done on cluster.
