Thinking of looking at this later in the week....a good buy for £900?.....would anything in the pics or advert put anyone off? Has 160k on the clock, FSH and cambelt is done. Also did an MOT check and the advisories are in the 3rd picture. My plan would be to keep it long term. The "Myles" project on car throttle gives me some confidence that if you look after these you can put over 200k miles on them no bother. Any thoughts welcome....

Nothing to worry about there - and as you've got the cam belt and waterpump done it should be fine. Good engines, and will keep going if looked after. May need a clutch at some point, but plenty of bits out there.

Oh, just to add, check the date the cambelt was done! 4 years or 60k on these.

Just corresponded the mileage that the cambelt was done against the MOT history. Says it is around 2014. Not really wanting to put loads of koney in this initially until the back end of the year as im buying a house. Still worth it?

For peace of mind it needs a cambelt doing.

Right ok.....even after only getting the previous one done 32k ago? Is it more because it was over 4 years ago that it was done?

Yeah they're usually due every 4-years on time, so it's worth getting done

Mileage doesn't look that high to me, 160k miles on a 2003 car is bang on average (10k per annum)

Probably an Ok buy IMO thumbup

£750, plus £250 for the cambelt at an indy... would be a decent buy!

You don't take a 15-year-old car to the main dealer for routine jobs.

Taking it to a Local Shop will halve that bill, though you may have to take your own coffee and pastry.

Where you are based? Someone can probably recommend a good indy for the cambelt.

My mobile VAG mechanic would quote around £350 for cambelt, waterpump and probably inc the serp belt too. Covers East/North London and south Essex and bits of Herts.
