Hi guys

I’ve had my 2017 a5 for nearly 2 years now and it’s just come up for the 4th time it will need new car key batteries. I questioned Audi about this and they seem to think the battery’s should last 3 - 4 months. Seems like bs to me I know loads of people who have keyless cars and they never replace the batteries. Anyone with a bit more technical know how able to help ?

Haven't got technical know-how, but I only replaced the batteries in mine once over a 4-year period. Weirdly, the spare key died at about the same time - even though it had hardly been used.

On my keyless cars 2014 & 2017 Seat & Skoda, the std batteries last a year.
Assuming your audi has the same key fob, then you can fit the next size up battery in it which lasts longer.
CR2025 to the slightly thicker CR2032.
Also, use a good quality battery. Cheap ones don't last long, though even good quality ones are cheap enough from the likes of Amazon and take seconds to change. Keep a few spares at home or in the glove box.
