My Golf, 4 years old, has come back from the garage and the service interval shows:-

Oil 20,000 miles or 730 days

Inspection 20,000 miles or 365 days.

Why is the inspection now showing as 365 days, rather than 730 as the oil. Is it due to the age of the car?

Do I need them to reset the inspection to a different regime.

It will be due a brake fluid change when it's 5-years old (first one would've been at 3-years). Dealers quite often reset the Inspection interval to reflect this. Your engine oil etc won't need changing unless you do 20k in the next year, if that makes sense.

I noticed on my daughter's new SEAT Ateca, for longlife/variable servicing the Inspection service interval was 2yrs/20K then every year/20K. The oil service stayed at 2yrs/20K.

I imagine all VAG cars will be the same.
