VW Amarok canyon roof lamps

Has anyone got a Amarok with the 4 main beam spot lamps that can answer a quick question for me. When I flick the lamps on to main beam or flash they only work on the roof bar and not in the head lamps, is this ok or faulty. I would have thought that the ones in the headlamps would work too? I have tried to google and speak to the dealers but had no joy.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this. I have a Canyon with the same and want to try and change it back to OE spec?
