Audi TT 2.0 TFSI mayo in oil

Whilst topping up the oil in my wife's TT at the weekend I was greeted with this.



I initially suspected a head gasket issue but the oil actually smelt strongly of petrol. I had a new PCV valve to fit anyway so I went ahead and fitted it only to discover the same mayo like mess within that too.



Is this a typical sign of a PCV failure or should I prepare myself for a head gasket change?

lots of short journeys? seems pretty common for TFSI

Hi mate does the TT get driven alot also when driven is it long runs or just round the corner??

It used to do a few shorter journeys but now does 9 miles of dual carriageway and motorway morning and evening.

It uses a bit of oil, no more than my 2 previous mk5 Golf GTi's though.

Yeh its the short journeys causing it.
