I am looking at one of the above cars and would just like a little advice. They are all around the 100,000mile mark so will get cam belt changed when I get it. Heard they also suffer with water pump and clutch/flywheel issues.

Is the clutch/flywheel issue related to the PD more so then the CR engine versions? Guessing the 10 plate cars will all be the CR versions.

Finally 109ps must be woeful
140ps was good enough when I had one.
170ps seems good but heard substantial turbo lag

Which one is best?

Thanks in advance for your help.

140PS is the sweetspot, it's a smooth engine and suits the car well particularly with the DSG 'box. The Highline 2.0 TDI is CR by default, much nicer than the earlier PD engines.
