Not sure where to post this but the above car was stolen outside my house last night.

It is a red S4 avant and was in the Park Langley area in Beckenham.

It was taken without keys which is fortunate as my 2 young children were in the house but it seems that the remotw has been cloned. It is not keyless entry.

If anyone sees it could they pm me. Police have been notified.

If anyone from Audi is reading this perhaps someone could explain to me how the car could be taken without keys.

Sorry to hear this, it could also have been lifted on a flat bed instead of car key clone theft.

How long have you owned the car?

When was it last at a garage, dealers or independent?

Do you have the spare key and did it actually work? (unlocks car and engine starts with spare key) as I've bought a few cars in the past and the spare key has not been coded to the car.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is entirely possible for a car to have more than 2 keys on the ecu of the car, some vehicles, my old S3 8P showed on the DIS how many keys were currently connected to the car.

My latest car was purchase was from a not so desirable back street garage and I have a feeling they know the previous owner and the car was put through them by the previous on a sale or return basis.

Funny when I went down there to close the sale they couldn't find the spare key. They sent me out a replacement one and so I need to get around coding the new key to the ECU and removing the ''misplaced one'' one because who knows where that key is, was it really misplaced? Potentially you have to consider that no key has been lost and they are waiting in line for a few months/weeks to pinch it with the missing key - That's a view you have to take with any car purchase that does not come with the spare key. TBF I think everyone should get their key reprogrammed with any missing keys removed from the car computer brain with any new car purchase as you just don't know.

I had the car for 3 years and had 2 sets of remote keys plus a physical key. Not checked recently on the car's computer but last time I checked it had only 2 keys initialised.
It was parked outside our house on the main road as our driveway was being re-done.

Hadn't thought about a flatbed truck. Its a quiet road so would have thought we may have heard that unfortunately no one has cctv nearby. I thought it would be an OBD theft. Car went for an MOT last week.

Is there a possibility there might be a break-in into the house to take the keys?

Another from Beckenham - over in The Avenue myself

No idea how it wasn’t likely taken but I will keep a look out, do you have any pictures etc. Happy to share it around some of the local groups - some success with this after an M3 was stolen from Petts Wood last week and found in Elmers End....would suggest having a look around some of the back roads and posting on the local Beckenham groups for others to look for it, if you want it back of course.

Thanks Kiethton
I'd be curious to find out where it has ended up.

again sorry to hear, break in would be unlikely, I assume you've checked the back door outside? Do you have anti snap locks on atleast your front door and rear? Sounds like a daft question but do you lock all doors and night and keep the windows shut? Some people do go to bed with their doors unlocked!

Also s4, does it have keyless entry, that could be a possibility with them cloning another key to the car at your residence.

Doors all locked every night. I think one of the locks on front door is anti snap as it is a mortice lock.
Car did not have keyless entry. Just normal remote fob.
