I drive a 2009 1.4 vw scirocco and was going to change the rear brakes as I’ve recently done the fronts and wrongly assumed you open and remove the caliper in the same way -.-

Needless to say I have to remove the caliper mounting bracket to remove the rear disc but is not as hex key shape, instead it’s a dirty great what looks like a torx head.

Any body have any idea a rough size? Couldn’t find my vernier and was doing it at a mates garage so no ruler either.

The rear bolts are - Socket head bolt with inner multipoint head (Kombi).M12x1.5x65.

You'll just need the right socket to suit. Not a torx socket, multi point.

Edit - 14mm xyn

M14 spline. AKA triple square. And no, the carrier bolts aren't one time use.
