Hi all, advice needed!
My 1.4 Golf had a misfire in cylinder 4, ive replaceed all 4 coils & plugs. The car will crank but won’t fire, there is no spark. I’ve also replaced the ignition relay to no joy either.
Any ideas where to go next to get the thing started?

Really need to have it scanned to see what fault codes as stored and take it from there. I assume the plugs are gapped correctly and you haven't mixed up the wires to the coilpacks, if that's possible.

If I were to hazard a guess. I would have a look at the engine speed sensor / crankshaft sensor.

That’s what a mechanic has just mentioned to me. Any idea where the crank sensor is on this engine?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that engine but it will be located somewhere in the proximity of the bellhousing as it will take it's pulses from the flywheel. Whether you access it from above or below, I don't know.
