I have had my eye on an RS5 for over a 1.5 years. I went to the Geneva launch and been watching the mixed reviews. Really not the most popular choice, as many go for the more practical RS4, however I love the coupe shape, having owned two previous A5's. After having one for a day long test drive, I was convinced I needed one..

This is my first RS product and I have to say, I am pretty impressed. By far the fastest accelerating thing I have ever piloted, but also has the mix of being a nice sedate GT, soaking up the rubbish roads when you need it. The tech is plentiful and really quite intuitive to use.

Not gone too crazy in it, as breaking in the engine, so trying to avoid full throttle in dynamic mode..

If anyone is thinking of one, try not to let the reviews put you off..

Thanks.. your just showing your age with the Ripspeed quote wink I am old enough to remember..

I have seen a few owners that have made them one colour, which makes them look better..

Looks lovely. Any pics of the interior?
The wheels in solid black would look great, and compliment the rest of the colour scheme.

Many thanks.. A few shots of the interior.. Went for the black and red stitching seats, with the aluminium trim, which given everyone has gone for the carbon trim provides more light in the cabin, along with the pana roof. Already put 700 miles on the clock, the sports exhaust is starting to open up with hints of pops and bangs... I will leave the wheels for now, as they are actually allot nicer in the flesh than photos..

Very nice!

Got to agree on the wheels, a refurb in a single colour will be the icing on the cake I think. Diamond cut wheels will be lucky to survive the winter anyway rolleyes

looks fantastic. Had a RS6 for a few years and its one of my best all timers. Looking to get back into a RS and the option was RS4 but now seeing your RS5 that's soo nice.

WOW - looks fantastic. Had a RS6 for a few years and its one of my best all timers. Looking to get back into a RS but a smaller RS and the option was RS4 but now seeing your RS5 that's soo nice. With the running in on the RS6 it was the brakes to take easy for the first 1000 and like you said the engine just to bed in. Sounds like you have a massive grin. I love the wheels as they are !

They had one of these in the Audi garage when I went to buy my B8 RS5, I didn't think I'd like it that much especially after dropping the V8 but my opinion was changed when I saw it in the flesh. The interiors are superb, the chairs are as nice as I've seen and the exhaust noise is still very good. Lovely car, nice colour as well

The RS5 just does not seem to shift from the show room. Not sure there is much of a demand?

Been told on a few occasions from Audi dealers that the S5 add RS5 have always sold in lower figures.

I think the S5 has been pretty successful. RS5 were always much lower numbers, my local dealer had an allocation of 5 a year. Most would go for the RS4 as it is far more practical being an Avant and potentially allot less discount available.

Hmm i think maybe he was talking about the amount he has sold compared to other S and RS models, think the 3.0T V6 sold better then the 4.2 V8 S5, not sure though I am just remembering what he said.

Is the RS5 worth having over a S5? Second hand values of the RS5 seem to be holding on in the 50k plus bracket. I guess because Audi hold all the stock and are managing the market.

that's the same question as S6 or RS6 - do you want the extra power/the daddy. Drive both. I found the RS6 so much fun and was sold on it way above the S6.

How reliable is the RS6? Any issues with brakes, alloys and engine mis-fires?
