Hi,

I had the first oil and filter change undertaken in my A7 on Friday last week. Picked the car up and drove home.
Checked the oil level Saturday afternoon, both with the engine cold and then hot after a run and waiting 15 mins.

The oil level is only 3/4 full on the electronic gauge.

Called the Service desk at the main Audi dealer this morning and told that they don't fill the oil to the maximum mark due to causing air locks but to call in and they will top it up.

I've never heard of not filling to the max mark when performing an oil change. Is this a true statement regarding the Audi A7 TDI engine?

Cheers,
Geoff

Sounds like nonsense to me, maybe someone will confirm this as im not familiar with that car.
No dipstick probably so they have rushed the job.
Surely a main dealer tech could find out the engine capacity and fill accordingly.

Thanks Belle427.

I took the car back to the dealer and spoke with a technician. He basically said that the oil level gauge on the MMI shows the oil level and it wasn't filled correctly.

He then topped up the level so reads "Max" on the MMI screen. No mention of any air lock issues.

Somewhat miffed that a main dealer has done this. Would have thought better.

It’s Disappointing they can’t be trusted with such a simple task these days.
