06 Transporter key not working

I've recently got a 06 T5 Transporter, I was told that the 2nd key didn't work and true to form it doesn't.
It will manually unlock the doors from the lock.
It will not unlock remotely nor is it able to start the van. I've tried the recode by having the van locked, holding the unlock button and manully unlocking but to no avail.
When it is in the ignition the immobiliser icon flashes away and you can't start it up.
My other key is fine (thankfully) but I'm off to Scotland in 3 weeks so would kinda like a spare!

The recode you mention usually just re syncs it to the central locking, it does not code the immobiliser part.
A mobile car key specialist could do this for you as it requires diagnostic equipment, alternatively someone here local to you may have vag software that could do it for a few beer tokens.
