DSG in snow - experiences?
Discussion
Was quite surprised to find there’s no way of selecting a higher gear to start with DSG and in wife’s Mk1 Tiguan there’s no mode button.
Car is on winter tyres but here (Cheshire plain) we haven’t had much snow and it’s pretty flat so the car hasn’t been tested. Anyone driven DSG in proper snow?

Yup, no issues to report other than those that face any other two wheel drive car on 'normal' tyres.
Late ones have a particularly smooth uptake of drive so are fairly good when pulling away on slippery surfaces.
They're generally quite obedient with early downchanges too which is helpful when slowing.
If you're talking about a little Polo it'll be a veritable mountain goat compared to a fat, heavy, wide-tired A6 of course.

As above, DSG has been perfect in the snow in both auto and manual modes.
My tyres however have been shocking. Goodyear Asymmetric 3s in 235/35/19 guise don't like the snow at all!
This winter has tipped the scales for me investing in some winter tyres at the end of the year.
That's odd ... I got a pair of those tyres (in exact same fitment) fitted the weekend before last and they were fantastic through all that snow last week. The conti's which were on before were sh*t full stop ... still had 4ml left but I couldn't face them any longer lolMy tyres however have been shocking. t load more snow than UK. My wife’s golf works fine with it. Tyre choice is pretty much the only issue with snow.
