Speedo dead & Fuel guage going crazy !!!

Hello, have a MKIV golf and the speedo has just packed up and at the same time the fuel guage seems to have lost its calibration. The fuel guage will go from empty to full when you go around a corner. Checked appropriate fuses and disconnected the battery to try and reset everything. Does anyone have any ideas please or know of a specific forum that might be able to offer some advise? Thanks in advance.

Also if anyone knows a good garage in the Reading/Berkshire area that would be good.... thanks.

have had the same problem at work
the car had been jump started and blown up the dash board
