Gents,

I am planning on buying a secondhand TT. My budget is under £10K so I have been looking at 180bhp left hookers.

Can you give any advice on what to look out for? It seems that ensuring the cambelts have been done is important, anything else?

Also are there any dealers to be avoided? I live South of London and the ones that seem to have the sort of cars I am looking for are Croft near Heathrow, Chesham LHD centre and the Turbocentre North of London.

Many thanks.

Go here: www.tt-forum.co.uk

Do a search for 'Dashpod'. If any of your dials look wrong then make sure it is fixed. £600 for a new dashpod unit - not repairable.

A 180 Front wheel drive will be significantly lighter than a 225 quattro. Chip it and it'll be just as quick too.

You might pick up a very early UK car from a desperate private seller for that price. I know our W reg'd 225 Coupe is probably only 10-11k trade to a main stealer so you might want to get cheeky with a few sellers in the range.
