Hello
I've got a 1989 VW golf gti mk 2 16v gear linkage is a little sloppy. Find it hard to find 5th and because the spring is worn it falls into reverse instead of first. Not good given that it is only gona be used on the track. Don't want to bin it looking for gears.
Wondered if anyone out there as had the pleasure of repairing a linkage on the good old mk 2 and if so could they ive me any tips. This one has push rods with ball and socket at each end. The connection rod has bushesat the gear leaver box and at the front below the bulkhead.
If there are any litle gems that will make the re-assembly easier than the removal I would be very greatful.
