Ok ive decided i want to go back to having an Audi, after owning a modified 2.3 GT Coupe(year of vintage 1982) for some 13 years.

What im after is an Ur Quattro, condition isnt so important as long as its basically sound of engine and transmission and the bodywork isnt rusted thru.
Im looking for something that i will end up extensively modifying so thats why its not too important for its condition to be concourse.
Repairs will hold no fear even though my wallet will tend to quake at the mere mention of the price of parts..
Currently ive got a GT4 but although its a good car its kinda souless and i really do miss that 5 cylinder roar and the ability to set off car and house alarms with it...

So, how much and where can i get a half decent one?

BTW, itll be a while before i can get around to doing this as "other" considerations have gotta come first.
Still, dosent hurt to have a goal!

Couple of crackers there, and a rather tasty S2.

Just buy one you wont regret it!! I've got a 1983 UR and you just can't beat the offbeat 5 cylinder warble and the've got so much soul yet German build quality. Your already aware that parts are expensive so theres no nasty surprises for you there. Now you have only got to decide which version you want the WR/MB or RR?? I've got a friend with a WR which was 320 in its last incarnation and will soon be 400 and a friend with an RR which will soon hopefully be back with us and around 450-500bhp. Might be worth having a look at Lumenition and Motec as your going to have to junk standard injection if your going to modify extensively, or alternatively try and find out about Kugelfischer as this is what the period rally cars used, I believe there is more info on this on American websites, if interested on this front let me know and I'll try to find out which exactly.
As for price and where there's plenty out there but they vary so hugely in price from approx 2k upwards but these must be complete sheds, apart from all normal classifieds try Quattro owners club and the specialists, just put UR Quattro in your search engine and they'll all appear. Good Luck.
Keep us all informed its nice to hear about the original and best rally supercar!!!!

Thanks for that guys.

Id definitely junk the original Kjet injection for something a little more flexible/tunable, maybe an Autronic ecu is the way to go.
Had a peek at the ones for sale via PH and yep theyre gorgeous...havent got 10k tho!
Still not to worry.
Like i said tho, its not too important that its A1 condition as itll get revamped, come what may. Ive already got a few ideas regarding changes but first ill have to find a suitable project vehicle on which to lavish my attention!

And if you fancy doing some serious haggling to affect the prices nationwide, feel free. Then we can haggle the prices back up once purchases have been completed.
