Mate has bought a 1.8 Turbo GTi (MK4). Think it's 180bhp?

What would be a good chip for it? How much expected gain and approx cost? Any other worthwhile mods? doesn't want massive changes, maybe just a wee power/torque boost.

thanks in advance

Best bet is to look on uk-mkivs.net to see their experiences.

Not the cheapest, but they will do a custom remap, with rolling road sessions to fine tune it.

First things first - what year is it?

Depending on the year his car will either have a drive by wire or cable operated throttle.

If it's a DBW then speak to a REVO dealer but if it's not then I suggest you might get better results with Upsolute.

For more info and the definitive forum for everything MK IV have a look at www.uk-mkivs.net by the way.

Any questions will have been answered on there I guarantee it.

we do e.c.u upgrades at Damon hill ltd (t/a Exeter Audi)

we reccomend a forge or any up-graded diverter valve to cope with the extra boost. it will probably set you back around 650 quid.

This will boost any 1.8 t 150/180 bhp versions to 210bhp

or any 1.8 t 210(old audi s3) and 225 bhp to 270 bhp

please contact me (markus) on 01392 222536 for any enquiries.
