A4 GEARBOX

I have a 2003 A4 CAB 3.0ltr with a 6 speed multi-tronic box. AUDI have reliably informed me that the gearbox/transmission needs a major repair but apparently the local chaps (Guildford AUDI) do not have the right tools or training to fix it!!

Has anyone elso had a similar problem or offer any advice? Many thanks.

Personally i'd ask them to replace the 'box and get yours repaired in their own time.
Since that's about as unlikely as the pope living beyond the end of the year, there's not an awful lot you can do. Where are they planning on sending it? I presume that the issue is skilled mechanics rather than tools.

i would secend that you can pick up boxs easy now like "finder part" and so on a part from that it would probly be more money if you had it rebuilt.

Try a different dealer? Bit obvious I know, what about Fontains in Slough?
