The Amazing PH Passat Alltrack Thread
Discussion
Roll up roll up! Let's see if this one has legs (!)
Anyone else get in on the insane lease deal? I'll be interested to see when (if!) they start turning up and how we all get on with them.
As VW were so kind to honour all our deals I thought let's have a thread. It's feeling a bit real now as my order has moved to stage 2 of 7. How's everyone else getting on?

27 hours and I'll be in mine :-)
From memory your stock car has rather more options than standard spec. All of which you are paying for in the next 2 years. Mind you I might have done the same if my local dealer hadn't been so utterly useless...Meanwhile, has anyone had any luck changing the spec after the finance has been agreed... I know someone was trying to but he hasn't appeared since that last post....

I tried last Thursday. Rang the VW dealer processing my order and they told me that VW were honouring the price as quoted. I was free to make any changes to the spec through my broker but the price would then be renegotiated based on the current price.
I politely declined
So it's Billy Bob Basic 190 DSG for me in Uranu Grey. The only thing I fancied adding was heated seats but I wasn't all that fussed tbh. The standard spec seems pretty good actually.
Has anyone seen or even sat in one? I found one at the 3rd dealer I tried (Sinclair Newport) and I have to say I was impressed. Didn't drive it as it's a display car in their showroom but very nice inside. I've been trawling YouTube and the net and haven't seen a bad review either which is encouraging.

Yup. But if I hadn't been misled by the dealer into being told that only stock cars were in the offer then I could have got the base model pushed through (although I would have paid for metallic paint to be honest). I've got dynamic chassis control and 19" wheels on mine. Titanium Silver or something like that. Yes I'm paying more than I *should* be doing, but just under £200 per month for a whole lot of car is still pretty darned good in my book and I'm happy with the deal and looking forward to picking it up tomorrow.Meanwhile, has anyone had any luck changing the spec after the finance has been agreed... I'm not sure if I understand. If I wanted an option that was £500 (eg, a new paint colour) do I not just pay an extra £500 over the term? I politely declined

Or do you mean that they will start a brand new quote from scratch, ie, the alltrack will be £400 per month plus whatever the options cost on top?
To answer your other question, yes, I have sat in one at the local dealer. For the benefit of those who haven't seen it yet, I'll give a little bit of info.
The one I seen was the standard trim interior and the colour was red. The red is beautiful I must say. The interior is lovely and the subtle alltrack branding in the interior and exterior is a nice touch. There are alltrack branded treadplates, and also in the seats, as well as an alltrack branded stamp above the gearstick which looks quite nice.
The standard cloth seating is actual more like half leather, half cloth with a bit of suede too. Eg, the driver seat sides and rear are actually black leather with high contrast white stitching (looks nice) and the main seat area as well as the backrest is cloth. The side bolster (ie, the bit that rests against your legs) is a nice suede type material which feels nice to the touch. The standard seats are also partial electrical - the lumbar is electric as well as the tilt. The forward and back, up and down movements are manual. The seats are the 'ergo cumfort' which I was told were the standard seats across all alltrack models. The do seem pretty comfy and with all the adjustment you need and lots of room in the car, I would think most people would have no issue getting comfy.
In the rear, the 2 sides bits are leather as well as the centre seat and armrest (which has 2 cupholders) Again, you see the high contrast stitching. The only cloth in the rear is the left and right actual seat area, plus backrest. Overall, about 50% cloth, 50% leather for the back seats.
I had a look outside at a few different cars that were urano grey. Its not a bad colour but I think because the wheel arch and sill guards are that industrial looking plastic grey, you would ideally want a contrasting colour to help them stand out. I think they will be a little bit lost in those cars which are urano grey (mine will be urano) I think this car would look awesome in white. I seen the A6 allroad in white with the same grey protection trim and it looks ace.
Really looking forward to getting mine. I went for urano grey, 190 DSG with 8k miles. Coming in at 3x and £146 per month. I would love to pay the extra for the plain white as its only another couple of hundred quid.....not looking like this will be possible though.
I've taken some pics of the red alltrack but I don't know how to upload them on here?

I also was interested in heated seats, but I just bought one of these for £12 to try and it's flipping superb. Can thoroughly recommend it. The cable is on the "wrong" side (right) but you can either turn the seat upside down or, as I've done, run the cable around the front of the seat. I politely declined

Has anybody who ordered a factory build been provided with a build week yet? On the VW portal, I have an order number and supplying dealer but mine just shows as 'with the factory'?
Also, as I ordered with a broker, do I now follow up with them or the supplying dealer?
There is quite a lag between the VW build tracker and the dealer being given the car's build week. Also, as I ordered with a broker, do I now follow up with them or the supplying dealer?
Best call the dealer to confirm the car's status.
Good interior review soupdragon, matches my thoughts on the seats really.
In answer to your question it's the latter. You wouldn't just be paying the cost of the paint extra, you'd be paying that as well as the uplift to the current 360 odd a month price.
Cheers Ray will check out that Amazon link.

Hi All.
I originally missed out on an order because I was umming and ahhhing over colour and if I wanted the 19's. I politely expressed my disappointment on the phone to the guy when he said it was a mistake and no more quotes could be put through. Luckily he called back a few hours later and said he had a saved order which he could use for me if I wanted the metallic paint and 19's as options (8K Miles). I was delighted and went ahead and got all paperwork sorted that day. Passed the credit checks and he said it all went through OK. I have my tracking number and can see it on the VW tracker. Alleged ETA is May/June. Still feels too good to be true though. I cant quite believe the car will ever turn up!
Thanks to all on here who posted it. I have been to a few dealers to try and get in an Alltrack but so far nobody has had one. I have sat in a few of the normal Passats though. A bit of a change from the Golf R.

the stubbornness of adding spec etc seems odd to me, surely theyd be delighted to make some money on the deal
(at least on the accessories).
even if it was a case of you had to pay the full cost upfront to dealer (rather than adding to lease)
vw cant seriously think some people might be stupid enough to cancel and reorder at 2x the price just to change an option?
can only think the order computer would throw a fit and its more hassle than its worth the dealer/vw to manually fix or something
