A3 1.8T vs A3 1.8T Quattro - performance
Discussion
In the dry, in a staight line, the difference will be fairly marginal. In any sort of corner, or in the damp, the quattro will be faster.
But it's not all about split second pub chat. The most important element is the feel. The all wheel drive car will be much more planted, it won't torque steer all over the place, won't wheelspin or judder through the chassis. Having had both I wouldn't even spit on a fwd again. Cars should only ever be RWD or 4WD - no exception. It's only ever used to save a few quid by the manufacturers for the uninformed.
