Alec, that's an appalling photo of the interior.
I had an 80 Quattro last year with that interior and it looks really nice.
It's actually a mixture of sort of autumn heather and ferny sort of colours in real life.
Think the guy had a hangover when he took that one!!
Brutally quick car by the way.
I've got the same one except it's the V6.

I think you'll find that's the anthrazit colour (the grey/black I have in mine) - just looks odd because of the fuzzy photo. I've got the brochure for that model so I'll check the options later. These late S6s have the toughened up first gear - should have no problems there, and huge brake discs. Tiny details but there's cover missing from above the MAF sensor and a bit of piping running along the strut brace that I don't recognise. Looks good though. I'd be interested to see whether the clutch was done at about 117000 miles.

Come on Alex - you know you need to

Edit: Actually that colour does look a bit odd. Why not ask him?

The fact that it has not had a service for 30K miles screams at me. I'd leave it very well alone. looks tidy outside (but as I have one in silver I am not exactly impartial..
