Folks, very near to bagging a 2.7BT S4 I think. I'd imagine I'm near certain to want some kind of power hike. I don't want to ask a FAQ or waste time but is there a resource online with a bunch of folks who've likely done this with some usual-suspect experts that I can throw some questions at? Very new to Audi (but not to tuning cars) so please tell me if there's a how-could-you-miss-it huge web forum somewhere! Specifically, am I correct in assuming from my initial research that AMD seem to be the most respected people for what I'm after and is the hike in grunt noticeable for one's £750?

Any help much appreciated?

You'll probably get a response here, but also try over at www.rs246.com

Having owned a totally standard S4 2.7TT for a few weeks now,,,I would attend to upgrading the suspension and braking before I considered any more power.

All is fine up to say 7/10ths...above that things can get interesting! Hardly fair to compare it to my 993 in those respects though.

I think that is the big difference between the Audi S & RS models, the RS have better suspension and brakes to make use of the power.

Big reds drop in I think Paul.

That should stop you nicely...

Another one would be www.tyresmoke.net. Probably more S3 than S4 (ex)owners but plenty of advice always forthcoming.

As Paul says, you will find that you will have more than enough in the short term with the 265 that comes as standard.
Upgrade as follows:

1 Brakes. Std set up is from 2.8 quattro and marginal for Turbo car. My car with wife driving has had 3 sets of discs up front in 2 and a bit years.

2 Springs shocks and anti roll bars

3.Short shift linkage

4 stage 1 chip.

5. Milltech cat back exhaust

I have drove an S4 and RS4 back to back. The S4 feels a much more responsive car due to it not having the big Turbos which need more spooling up.

When Buying second hand, check power steering, diff seals and drop links. also check for play in bushes which make a hell of a difference.

Bear in mind that if the turbos go you are looking at a 3k engine out repair.

Its a lovely machine and I will miss mine this weekend when I exchange it for a Griff.

Neil.
