On behalf of a friend.

ok here goes ... i have just got an audi 2.8 v6 auto cabriolet and although the temperture seems to be ok but the fan seems to kick in quite alot .. my concern is its winter at the mo what will it be like in the summer mnths ...maybe im paranoid any ideas.....thanx lee

Are you sure it's not the air conditioning? Not on an Audi, but on another car, the 'cooling' fans kick in to operate the air conditioning, and stop doing it if you switch it off.

Failing that, perhaps best to call the service desk of your local main dealer (shouldn't matter whether you're a customer or not) and ask them. It may be normal, or diagnostic of a fault in the cooling system. Sorry, don't know.

If the defrost/demist part of the HVAC is switched on it may cycle on and off and trigger idle compensation also.
