Yes, I'm pretty sure the Turbo engines need as high octane as poss. I have a mate with an S4 and was told it needs the 97/98 octane
I had a problem with a Lambda Sensor on my A3 3.2 which is not turbo but Audi still reccomend 98 octane, any way they told me not to run it on 95 (standard) unless absolutely neccessary.
I think Optimax is 98?

I have an RS6 and the manual says 95 or 97 - I only ever put 95 cr@p in it when I'm in the highlands (no choice)... not only is it fit to run nothing more tuned than a lawn mower, but it works out more expensive per mile.
My previous two cars (M3 & 911) also worked out cheaper per mile with 98 ron (optimax)
