I recently bought an M-reg (which I think makes it a 1994 model) Audi 80.

I've been on the Haynes website and they state that they don't publish, nor have any plans to publish, a manual for this particular model.

Strange seeing as how there's LOADS of them still on the road.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a service manual? The only one I can find on ebay is for the 1972-1979 model.

tadaaa!

Might cut off before you exact model, but its only a facelift and most of the mechanical stuff is the same.

Thanks Agent006 - so it's really just a face-lift difference between the H and M registration then?

Hmm, the guy in Halfords wasn't so sure, but then he did also say he's never driven or owned the model so what would he know!

Judging by the looks, and general audi model changes, i'd guess it's just a facelift. Different trim and that's about all. Same with the 100 to A6 switch.

Old Coupe
new coupe

They're based on their respective 80/90 models.

[phil payne mode] It's a bit more than a facelift - the J-onward models are almost entirely new shell, although the styling is superficially similar. For example, the newer shape has a much bigger boot and folding rear seats, so different fuel tank location etc. Lots of detail differences.

Having said that the Haynes book is going to be better than nothing. Can't you get hold of the Bentley books for the car?

Absolutely spot on Yertis. I'm afraid there are substantial mechanical and electronic differences in things like engines, fuel and ignition systems, exhaust system, even the rear suspension is quite different.
The Haynes manuals are dreadful at the best of times, but even worse when they don't cover the particular model you have.
You can get the correct factory manual in CD on e-bay; I've seen dozens of these advertised.
