Any VW Sharan Owners out there
Discussion
(Ted, please excuse the post here, but wanted to ask a mildly technical question)
Anyone out there own a Sharan. The wife has a Y reg 2.0l one, and just discovered that the radio light does not go out when the ignition is off. (i.e. the radio is off, so it lights up so you can find it, but when you turn all off, it stays lit). Can you please go out and see if the same is true on yours, or, as I suspect, the timer circuit has broken and is failing to power it down later.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

My wife has a Y reg Galaxy (Sharan in Ford badging) and the radio on that goes off when you remove the key, if you then manually switch it on it gives '1 hour' on the timer before going off again. So no I can't really help you there but I think you might get a wiring diagram from; www.autodata.ltd.uk/
BTW we have had several 'niggly' electrical faults with it, it does seem a bit temporamental.
Good luck

Thanks Catso. I have disabled the radio at the moment, but if the Galaxy is anything similar (was reading the Haynes in Halfrauds) then there is something called an Accessory Delay Unit, which keeps things powered for a little while, and it could be that at fault. The radio does switch off, but the erie blue glow does not stop, and that is enough to be draining the battery.
Thanks for your help,
Chris
