A4 Instrument Cluster
Discussion
Any suggestions on cheap methods to solve an instrument cluster problem ?
The headlight warning buzzer stopped working and since its apparently soldered into the instrument cluster and can’t be replaced, the stealer wanted £500 for a whole new instrument cluster and £100 labour to address this. Now that odometer has stopped lighting up, still counts miles on trip and total but need a torch to read it and its starting to feel really pikey.
It’s a ‘97 A4 2.8Q with 100k miles so a new instrument cluster is worth more that the car - can this be done by an independent using 2nd hand parts ?

Seems a perfect case to buy a soldering iron and spend a weekend taking the car apart.
the light will just be a £2 bulb that needs changing. The buzzer should be easy enough to change, but you'll either need something to take it's place or another complete dashboard to scav one off. Could try www.allaudi.co.uk for that.

You need to get yourself along to AllAudi - they'll sort you out.
