The Britax Duo ISOFIX seat is approved for the rear of the TTC (see link). These seats cover kids from roughly 9 mths to 4 yrs. They cost c£160 in Halfords or Audi do their own one for a bit less (its the same seat but with the Audi logo on it - I've got it in my S4 and its excellent).
You're right that space in the TTC is tight - I just hope that your passenger has short legs and can put the seat forward. The alternative, I guess, is a px for an S3 or A3 3.2Q.
