I have a spare Mk 1 GTI. 130k

Mars Red 1982 Y reg, folder with £8,000 receipts, car restored every panel replaced, every bit of plastic replaced plus more such as new old stock parcel shelf, stainless exhaust etc etc. All standard not molested, repair panel on drivers seat as they all do. Glass sunroof, now running 1800 motor with all new mounts (was 1600) Gauges just need hooking up to the loom. Standard nine spokes restored with new 175/70 13 tyres. Could use repainting due to microblisters.

What's it worth? £1500??

When was it restored? If it was 1983 then that would make a big difference

I'll have to check, don't really want to sell it but space is a premium and there's no way I'm parting with the Helios Blue Campaign or the all White Cabrio.

Does need a respray though, paints a bit faded in places?

Tough one, with all those bills & if it was all original & in really ace condition it could comand good cash.

Trouble is with a 1.8 replacing the 1.6 its lost the originality & needing a respray wont really help much either.

By all means try for £1500 but you may have to accept you might get less than half that figure.
