Audi A3...what's up with it?

Can you help me out please...

When the stalk returns to its normal position after indicating, a clicking noise (similar to the indicator only it's much faster and somewhat eratic!) continues for a short while thereafter. It's got progressively worse - I thought I was hearing things when it first started doing this a few weeks ago!

Also, both reversing lights have now packed up

Are the two connected and what should I check out?
