Walking down our road the other day and spotted an Audi s2 coupe and thought, hmm, I like the look of that, I'll go on'tinternet and find out more... Only most of the stuff that a few google searches brought up were massively tuned versions. Looking on the classifieds they seem to be going for around the 3k ish mark.

I love the sound of the Quattro 5 cylinder engine, like the looks but what they like to drive and own?

Hi
The S2 coupe is a brilliant car, not the most practical but what coupe is. They make a S2 estate as well so you get the perfomance and the practicality to. Head over to s2forum.com you will find out all you will need to know and some nice cars for sale.
Here's a picture of mine.

Thanks! Must admit I like the look of the coupe. Don't see many about do you, or for sale? Are they quite rare?

The B3/B4 Audi coupe is a rare sight nowadays and the (B4 only) S2 is even rarer. You dont see many for sale on the various sale sites, the best ones are on the forums (S2forum.com) There are 2 different types, the 3B, (engine code) 5 speed gearbox 220bhp and ABY 6 speed 230 bhp. It depends on how good you are with a spanner to what price to pay. If you are good then you can do repairs youself but part arent the cheapest. Like i said go to S2forum.com and do some research

Cheers S2Boy, thats really helpful stuff. I've seen a couple at around the £3/4k mark, is that a good price for a good 'un do you think?

Btw, I just joined the S2forum and am snooping around wink

I'm about to sound like an old man but that car above is from the days when an Audi was an Audi!

£3-4K means you should get quite a good one. Althought you will need £6-7k if you want a mint car with all the toys and mods done like mine. Im shaun5 on s2forum. Where abouts in the country are you located?

I'm in Sheffield. On my googling adventures I've noticed theres loads of modded cars out there. I take it they're easily upgraded? I've currently got an mk1 mx5 which I've now turbocharged, so I have a bit of basic knowledge of the principles of forced induction tuning.

Is it just a case of upping the boost, adding more fuel (bigger injectors) and keeping it all cool?

Thats a bit of a way from me. The 5 cylinder 20v turbo is an amazing engine. 230-230 bhp 350NM (AT 1950RPM) torque, with 380NM with overboost on ABY. a chip will take you to 280bhp. Bigger intercooler, better exhaust 300ish bhp. Apparently thats it for the standard turbo. Next stage is different turbo, exhaust manifold, reverse inlet manifold, fuel pump, injectors, stronger rods and anything up to 600-700bhp is achievable. Standard stats are 0-62 in 5.5 seconds 154mph top speed. very quick times for a early 90's car.

In that case im an old man too. In my opinion Audi's after 1997 are not the same standard as earlier cars. Spose thats why we are on this forum tho.
