Anybody had an E-Diff System Fault on their XFR?

Heard some rubbing sounds coming form back axles last few days, then got this warning light...put it into Jaguar today to have a look at it.

Ouch. It must be all the 'ponies' you've been putting through it!

Wonder if others have had the same issue?

The ediff comes from the LR Discovery 3/4. So it should take the power on a much lighter vehicle. Jag's main concern was with the autogearbox as the V8 can produce way more power, but the life of the 'box may not cope.

Well saga continues Jag it seems have sent engineers up and taken session data...they know there is a problem (one of the Jag's bosses has it on his) but now they think it could be electrical!! Tempted to as k for a swap for the new XJ Supersport

Supersport is absolutely lush. Crawled over one today at Goodwood Festival of Speed and saw it run the hill a couple of times. The full leather interior is superb. Only disappointment was it didn't sound anygood. Nothing like the XFR or XKR. Shame, but guess it's not supposed to. Tell that to AMG or Sudi and they would disagree, as do I.

Interesting jag boss has issue, hexwin't have to keep his though!

Good to see they took the issue seriously, although nothing less is to be expected.

Glad it seems to be sorted, touch wood!

Yes the plus point was that they took it (and me!) seriously and recognised the problem...can not fault the customer service at Jaguar (Chester)...very good.

Hi guys I'm a new member,I'm having this problem with my 09 xfr "e diff fault "just started over the weekend. When I pull away from a junction turning left or right it sounds and feels like driving over fresh snow! If that makes any sence. So looks like a visit to Hadley green for me. I will be happy if it's only an oil change, sounds rough. Hope it's nothing to serious.

That is exactly what my wife's car had....they had the car for a week and messed with lots of things but they said it just needed a different type of oil in the back axle, now admittedly that is what the person said on the service desk! Any issues get them to call Rybrook Chester, that is where the car was. SInce then not an issue.

Bought my 59 plate xfr 6 days ago.... love the car BUT .. had some issues...Todays new issue is the "E Diff Problem" ..its already going into Jag in Warrington tomorow (Shudder under breaking and corrosion on boot lid !!)so they are going to look at the e diff issue..I will report back on what they find.
