Jaguar Lister XJ12 Coupe info
Discussion
Hi
Can anyone help? I am looking for any info and articles on the LISTER XJ12C Coupes? I have an article from the June 1999 Jaguar World Magazine, but I am sure there must be more info out there. If anyone could direct me to other magazines etc. I would be very grateful. Also do you know any of the history? I think WP Automotive may have built 4 cars but I am not sure. If you own one- I'd love some images!!
Thanks

Lovin that Lister, there going for so little money considering what you get, i seen earlier cars going for 11k, i hear there very very expensive to run though so perhaps thats the reason why
I'd still love one though, i always liked the XJS and to me the lister is the ultimate version of that car, 7 litre engine and manual box, even the earlier non supercharded cars had like 400hp and did something like 190mph

Who told you they are very expensive to run ! The green car has just done a round trip of 67 miles and returned 19.6 MPG ???? In 6th at 100rpm she is quite happy and that's 50 mph so not really having to make the superchargers work till 3000rpm means you can get semi sensible mpg. Wild amounts of torque and very long gears!WDRV12 said:

Hey deadslow must get you on my payrole Your Lister does look OUTSTANDING
Hello WDRV12,
The reason I ask is that Ive owned a standard XJC since 1986 and always admired greatly the lister conversions to the coupe. I am not unfortunately in any financial position to purchase a lister XJ12C even if there were any for sale? I understand there may only have been 4 built. The car pictured is the car I remember (NPH913P) but the car featured in the june 1999 Jaguar world is registered 64DPT. These may be one and the same car? Anyway back to the reason for my question. Over the years I collected a couple of articles on the lister XJ12C, but in the last house move managed to loose!! I am after the names of the magazines that the articles were in, so I can replace them. Then if I ever am flush with cash I know what I will want!!
Regards

Hi there, just spotted this thread. The magazine article on the car you are refering to was in Jaguar World June 1999.I owned that car and bought it from the guy driving it in the article Tony Cavell.I was the 23rd owner although 2 previous owners had owned it more than once.It came with a history file totalling over £155,000 when I got it.It had had a 7.4 litre twin supercharged engine at it's peak delivering 604BHP but when I owned it it had a 7 litre fuel injected delivering 425BHP.I sold it about 8 years ago with the registration XKM 836.When I sold it I didn't have a Digital Camera so I don't have any scanned in pics of it but it was truly a thing of beauty.
I'm sorry I've only just seen your response. The original owner was Hans Rausching who was one of the richest men in the UK at the time. The guy who had it before Tony Cavell (the guy in the article ) was an amateur race driver who as a result of a racing accident was partially paralysed and had to drive with hand controls. It was he that had the engine changed to a 7 litre fuel injected lump because the 7.4 twin supercharged engine was just too fierce. It was nice to drive and felt quite docile but I suspect the 12 cylinders had something to do with that. I did get the chance to give it full beans at Bruntingthorpe and it did go well. The fastest accelerating Jag I ever owned was a 4 litre Chasseur Stealth Bi-Turbo XJ40. I'm a lot more sensible these days and don't throw money at cars anymoreand I've recently bought my 20th Jag.
