Thought I'd say "Hi". Decided I'd had enough of the TVR S3 for a bit, so I've just bought an M reg XJS 4.0 cabriolet. It's done 80,000 miles but seems to be sweet as a nut.. very chuffed.

Must admit, it's a bit different to the TVR - that was a balls-to-the-wall sports car. The Jag's much more "refined".. makes me think of the finer things in life.. Edward Elgar.. Radio 4... the shipping forecast.. a good cigar..

Are there many other XJS owners out there on Pistonheads?

Je suis Au si

When you say 4.0 Cabriolet, do you mean Convertible, they stopped makeing the cabrio about 1987, when the convertible was launched.

Either way enjoy

Don't own one but I did a load of work at the factory on them. Yours is probably one of the best built, being 1994/5 ish vintage.

Well, that's good news Gavin!
I'm going to stretch its legs today and pop down to Hayling Island on the south coast. It's a nice drive along the A3...

Top man!

I moved from TVR to XJS (picture in profile).
I considered a Convertible too but in the end was temped away by my XJR-S monster.

I know what you mean about the feeling for "the finer things in life.. Edward Elgar.. Radio 4... the shipping forecast.. a good cigar.."
It certainly made a change from a soggy bottom in a TVR!

Happy motoring. We'll have to compare notes sometime.

Tend to prefer a bit of dinner jazz in my Sov.... A good cigar however, is a must!
